MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Movember, a month-long fundraiser where guys grow out their facial hair, is coming to an end.
The annual campaign started in Australia eight years ago and has grown into an international movement. Each November, men across the world grow mustaches and collect pledges that support prostate cancer and other men’s health issues.
As it comes to an end, that means a lot of men in the Twin Cities will be getting a clean shave. And that means it is a good time to think about winter skin care.
When shaving, it is important to use water that isn’t too hot. Also, minimize the time spent in the shower and you can avoid drying out your skin.
Hydrate from the inside out by drinking lots of water.
You also will want to use a moisturizer and exfoliator to keep skin soft and smooth.
Kiehl’s, inside Mall of America, is hosting a mustache-shaving event Wednesday. All day people can come in and for $50 get a professional shave with the money going to fight AIDS.
Since its inception in 2003, more than 1.1 million people have participated and more than $175 million has been raised for cancer research. You can find out more about Movember at the Movember web site.
