Police: Central Air Units Being Stolen In Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Minneapolis Police are putting residents on high alert after a recent rash of thefts in the area.

Authorities said there has been a recent string in thefts of central air conditioning units from homes in the Fourth Precinct. Police are telling residents to be alert to any suspicious activity in the area and to use sound burglary and theft prevention devices in the event they witness a theft.

Police in the Fourth Precinct will host a free burglary and theft prevention workshop for residents at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at the precinct, which is at 1925 Plymouth Avenue North in Minneapolis. In the meantime, residents are asked to report any suspicious activity to Minneapolis Police.
