Kahn Says Wolves Will Be Quiet In Free Agency

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) -- David Kahn says the Minnesota Timberwolves expect to stay relatively quiet in what is expected to be a frenzied free agency period that opens next week.

Kahn spoke to the media Thursday for the first time since owners and players reached a tentative agreement to end the lockout. The details are still being ironed out, but training camps and free agency are expected to begin on Dec. 9.

Kahn has typically been one of the most active deal makers in his first two seasons as team president. But with 13 players already under contract and only $5 million in cap room, Kahn says he will only do some "pruning" with the roster.

Kahn says he wants to give new coach Rick Adelman a chance to evaluate the full roster.
