Bemidji St. Beats St. Cloud St. 3-1

BEMIDJI, Minn. (AP) — Bemidji State goalie Dan Bakala made 33 saves to lead the Beavers over St. Cloud State 3-1 Saturday in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.

Bakala gave up a goal just 3:25 into the game, but was solid in nets the rest of the way while Bemidji State (6-8-2, 4-6-2) was being outshot 34-14.

Nick Oliver gave St. Cloud State (6-8-4, 4-5-3) the early lead, but the Beavers went up 2-1 by the end of the first period on goals by Jordan George and Brad Hunt. Radoslav Illo added an insurance goal late in the third period.

Goalie Ryan Faragher had just 11 saves for the Huskies, including one in the second period.
