Concordia's Girls Volleyball Team Takes 5th National Title

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Concordia University volleyball team won its fifth national title over the weekend – and the Golden Bears made it look easy.

This time, the team took the title on the court of their opponent, California State University, San Bernardino.

The words to describe the successful program are becoming hard to find. They play hard, they win all the time and they enjoy doing it.

But what's makes them so good?

"It's hard to explain," said Meghan Carlson, the team's captain. "I've been asked the question and I don't think I've ever answered the same, because there's just so many answers I think I have."

What the team has is a winning streak and a little bit of pressure. But the pressure is easy to deal with for a team that has learned how to win.

"You just feel like everything is gravy," said Golden Bears coach Brady Starkey. "It's fun: Get out there and compete."
