MINNEAPOLIS (AP/WCCO) — Minnesota musicians are paying tribute again to the Fab Four — and giving a little help to their friends at public schools.
“Minnesota Beatle Project Vol. 3” arrives Tuesday. Minnesota bands such as Tapes ‘n Tapes, Cloud Cult and Motion City Soundtrack contributed to the collection of Beatles covers.
Vega Productions will again donate all net proceeds from the album’s sale to support music and art education in public schools across Minnesota.
A CD release party will be held Thursday at First Avenue in downtown Minneapolis during Curtiss A’s 32nd annual John Lennon tribute concert.
Grant applications for Minnesota Beatle Project funds will be available starting Feb. 1, 2012.
