Cirque Dreams Holidaze Impresses With Acrobatics

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- If you aren't in the mood for "Scrooge" or "The Nutcracker" this holiday season, there's another option out there.

There's a show at Mystic Lake Casino combining dancing, singing and plenty of acrobatics. Mystic Lake Casino is hosting a holiday spectacle of a show -- Cirque Dreams Holidaze.

"It takes what you think you might have known about Cirque and ... we take it to a whole different level and add the holiday spin to it," said one performer. "We've kind of reinvented it from last time. The show is full of over 30 performers from different countries all around the world."

Now in its third year, the show opened last weekend completely revamped as "A New Wonderland."

The 80-minute performance works its way through the entire holiday season, from Thanksgiving to New Years. It shows the season's progression through ornaments coming to life from a giant Christmas tree.

There's music, dance, contortionists, acrobatics, aerial artists and an incredible jump rope act. In all, more than 300 costumes, colorful lights and plenty of energy combine to put a little seasonal cheer in your spirit.

Cirque Dreams Holidaze is an all-ages show. There are tickets still available for this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Tickets range in price from $26 to $34.
