Minn. St., Mankato Beats Ala.-Huntsville 4-2

MANKATO, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota State, Mankato scored twice in the first period and coasted to a 4-2 win over Alabama-Huntsville in men’s college hockey on Friday.

Eriah Hayes and J.P. Lafontaine had early goals for the Mavericks (4-12-1), who outshot the Chargers 39-21. Johnny McInnis and Zach Lehrke also scored.

Lasse Uusivirta and Kyle Lysaght netted goals for the Chargers (1-16-1), who got 36 saves from Clarke Saunders.

MSUM’s Austin Lee had 19 saves.
