Betty's Pies Getting Burned By Back Rent

MAHTOMEDI, Minn. (WCCO) -- It appears as though the folks at Betty's Pies have run out of dough, as the company is losing its lease in Mahtomedi.

According to the Pioneer Press, Bank Mutual launched eviction proceedings against the famous pie shop. The bank claims Betty's owed more than $281,000 in back rent.

The owners say the location in Mahtomedi has struggled since opening three years ago.

They told the Pioneer Press that they agreed to close up shop, but they may look for another spot in the Twin Cities.

All pre-orders at the Mahtomedi shop will be filled, and you can still get Betty's Pies delivered from the Two Harbors location.
