Adelman To Miss Bucks Game To Attend Funeral
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman will miss the team's game at Milwaukee on Tuesday night to attend funeral services for his mother-in-law.
The team made the announcement following the Wolves' season-opening loss to Oklahoma City on Monday night. Assistant coach Terry Porter will serve as coach for the game against the Bucks.
Porter has twice been a head coach in the NBA, with the Bucks from 2003-05 and the Phoenix Suns in the 2008-09 season.
Adelman took over as Timberwolves coach this season after four years in Houston. The Timberwolves fell to Oklahoma City 104-100 in his debut.
