MADISON, Wis. (AP) — For the second straight month, milk output has risen slightly in Wisconsin and held steady in Minnesota.

The latest figures show that Wisconsin dairy farmers harvested 2.1 billion pounds of milk last month. That’s a 2 percent increase compared to the same month last year.

Minnesota produced 716 million pounds in November. That’s about even with its production from November 2010.

Overall, milk production across the U.S. was up 2 percent to 14.7 billion pounds.

California is still the national leader, with 3.3 billion pounds harvested last month. Wisconsin remains solidly in second place, producing as much as the next two states combined.

The largest production increases last month were in Texas (8 percent) and New Mexico (6 percent).

Is the government still paying farmers to produce milk that no one wants?

    The stupidity and corruption continues.

Term limits and reduced government is the only answer.
