Man Charged In Attempted Rape Of 16-Year-Old

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Bloomington man accused of two recent sexual assaults committed in the vicinity of public transportation was set to appear in court Thursday afternoon.

Dominique Darrough, 25, was arrested on Christmas Day after police say he molested a woman on a light rail train. A teenage girl also accused him of following her off a bus last week and trying to rape her. Both victims say he aggressively came after them.

Court documents say one woman told police she was harassed by Darrough before he attacked her on the light rail train.

In the other incident, the criminal complaint states Darrough tried to rape a 16-year-old girl after she got off a bus along Chicago Avenue last week.

The victim told police the man made small talk with her on the bus and then followed her when she got off at her stop.

The victim said once they were in an alley, Darrough grabbed her, slammed her to the ground and punched her in the face.

The teenager said Darrough exposed himself and tried to rape her. She tried to shield herself, and that's when the man ran away and she ran home to her parents, according to the complaint.

Police arrested Darrough on Sunday after a woman on the light rail asked a passenger for help.

A short time later, officers say Darrough was spotted boarding a bus. Investigators say he had turned his jacket inside out, but the victim positively identified him.

He admitted to being on the light rail with one of the victims. He said he may have touched her accidentally.

Court documents Darrough he also admitted to being on the bus with the teenager and getting off the bus with her.

Darrough is charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct. He was scheduled to make his first appearance in court Thursday afternoon. He was being held on $100,000 bond.
