2 Arrested After Officer-Involved Shooting In St. Paul

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – Two men were arrested Saturday morning after one brandished a handgun at a police officer during a traffic stop in St. Paul, according to police.

The incident happened just before 9 a.m. on the 800 block of Arkwright Street. Officers stopped the vehicle after it matched the description of a car involved in a recent report of shots fired. When the officer stopped the vehicle, the suspect brandished the handgun and ignored the officer's demands to drop the gun.

That prompted the officer to fire his weapon, but neither suspect was hit. Neither the officer or the two men were injured in the incident, according to police.

The two suspects were identified as 29-year-old Aaron Lee Gant of Minneapolis and 38-year-old Gregory Allen Paul of St. Paul. Gant is being held on suspicion of aggravated assault and illegal possession of a firearm. Paul is being held on an unrelated warrant.
