MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 29-year-old man is charged with criminal sexual conduct for allegedly groping an 11-year-old girl at a Wal-Mart in Fridley.

According to the charges filed Tuesday, Nathan William Charles Jones is accused of touching the girl’s buttocks as she was standing next to her mother and sister in the crowded store.

The complaint states that as Jones grabbed the girl, he leaned in and said, “Excuse me,” and then walked away.

The store’s surveillance cameras captured the incident, which occurred on Dec. 26.

Jones appeared in Anoka County District Court on Tuesday. His bail was set at $175,000 without conditions and $100,000 with the condition that he have no contact with the alleged victim or any unsupervised minors.

His next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 1.
