Visitation Today For Officer Killed In Lake City

LAKE CITY, Minn. (WCCO) – Family, friends and fellow officers will begin saying goodbye to a Lake City officer who was killed in the line of duty.

Officer Shawn Schneider died last week. He was shot in Lake City while he responded to a domestic disturbance call in December.

Visitation for Officer Schneider is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church in Lake City.

Schneider’s funeral is scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m. followed by a burial at Lakewood Cemetery.

During his procession, a bell will ring 261 times, once for every Minnesota officer who has died in the line of duty.

    i dont understand why the police do not were some type of helmet like swat and army when entering a domestic call or any call a vest is not enough protection with these times its a war out there
