Police: Drunk Man Arrested For Dragging Friend With Car

ST. PAUL (WCCO) -- A man is in the hospital in serious condition after trying to stop his friend from driving drunk.

Police say 24-year-old Jason Schultz dragged his friend, Kyle Kissinger, about two blocks, as Kissinger was hanging out of his vehicle.

Kissinger was trying to stop Schultz from driving because he said he had too much too drink.

Police were called around 2:30 a.m. Friday on a report of a man lying in the street near Oakdale Avenue and Haskell Street in West St. Paul.

Authorities found the victim, later identified as Kissinger, who said he was dragged about two blocks by a vehicle. Kissinger said they were previously at the Commercial Club Bar on the 900 block of South Robert Street.

Kissinger was transported to the hospital with injuries. He is currently in serious condition.

Police tracked down Schultz and arrested him. He is currently in the Dakota County Jail awaiting possible charges.
