Get Ink, Inspiration At The Mpls Tattoo Convention

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- This weekend you have the chance to see artwork on a sensitive and living canvass: skin.

The Minneapolis Tattoo Arts Convention is going on all weekend at the Hyatt. Some 200 artists from across the country are taking part.

Along with checking out different styles and techniques, some people visited the convention to get some ink. Some can cost hundreds of dollars depending on the size and detail of the piece.

Kitty Noir, a tattoo enthusiast, says different people get different kinds of tattoos.

"Every tattoo symbolizes something for someone else," she said. "It could symbolize family or something important; other people get nonsense. That's the kind of tattoos I get."

The convention goes to midnight Saturday and then opens again from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
