Minn. Boy's PB&J Could Win Him $25,000
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 7-year-old Minnesota boy could soon be $25,000 richer if his peanut butter and jelly are deemed delicious enough.
Sullivan Jacobs has whipped up a recipe for a new PB&J sandwich he calls the Blue Monkey Pita. It is a French toast-style dipped pita stuffed with blueberries, bananas and peanut butter. It's served with a blueberry dipping sauce too.
Jacobs said the recipe all came from a breakfast dilemma with his brother. They couldn't figure out if they wanted peanut butter and bananas or French toast. So they simply combined the two.
The sandwich is one of 10 finalists in Jif Peanut Butter's "Most Creative Peanut Butter Sandwich" contest. Jif will pick a winner in a few weeks.
The winner will get a $25,000 scholarship.
