MLK Day: What's Open, What's Closed

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- As many celebrate Martin Luther King Day this Monday, several offices and services will be closed.

Post offices, many banks and all local, state and federal offices will all be closed for the holiday.

However, Metro Transit buses and trains will run on their regular schedules.

Parking meters will not be enforced in Minneapolis, St. Paul or at the University of Minnesota.

Aside from the closures, there is a full slate of events honoring King, including a breakfast at the Minneapolis Convention Center and an annual rally and march in St. Paul. The rally starts at 9:30 a.m. at Central High School. The march starts an hour later.

On Monday afternoon at 5, the Zanewood Recreation Center in Brooklyn Park is hosting a free MLK Day dinner.
