MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The Flyers’ Matt Read was recently named to the All-Star Game as a rookie. He went to Bemdji State and was an undrafted free agent the Wild looked at but did not sign.

He’s the fourth leading scorer amongst rookies this season.

The word in hockey circles is the Florida Panthers will work hard to sign the Gophers’ Nick Bjugstad at season’s end.

Donovan McNabb tells me he will continue to live in Minnesota so his kids can keep attending school. He is working out, hoping to play next season but also doing some post-season broadcasting.

Mike Singletary would probably not be the player’s choice to become the defensive coordinator for the Vikings.
