State Patrol: Man Killed On I-694 In Washington County

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A pedestrian was killed after an accident Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 694 at McKnight Road.

The Minnesota State Patrol said the accident occurred around 12:30 p.m. on westbound I-694. The White Bear Police Department and the Washington County Sheriff's Office also responded to the scene.

Lt. Eric Roeske with the Minnesota State Patrol said the person killed was a man, but his name has not yet been released. Roeske said the man pulled his vehicle over to the shoulder, got out of his car and lay down in the right lane of westbound I-694. He was struck and killed by a semi.

Westbound Interstate 694 was shut down from Highway 120 to White Bear Avenue for about four hours while authorities to investigated the accident. Roeske said the westbound lanes of I-694 reopened at about 4:15 p.m. Tuesday.
