SHELL LAKE, Wis. (WCCO) – A 24-year-old snowmobiler died after running into a barbed-wire fence and trees in Wisconsin’s Washburn County.
According to the county sheriff’s office, Ryan Anderson, of Sarona, Wis., was riding on Devils Lake Road on Sunday afternoon when he missed a corner and crashed into the fence as well as some trees.
Anderson died in an ambulance while en route to the Shell Lake Hospital.
A 6-year-old girl who was also on the snowmobile when it crashed was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, Minn. She was reported in stable condition.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is continuing to investigate the crash.
