Woman Rescued After Car Plunges Into Zumbro River

ROCHESTER, Minn. (WCCO) – A woman had to be rescued after her car plunged into the Zumbro River in Rochester Tuesday morning, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The accident happened at about 9:40 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Highway 52 in Rochester. Authorities said the woman lost control of her vehicle, the vehicle rolled and ended up on its roof in the Zumbro River.

A state trooper, an officer with the Rochester Police Department and a witness ran to the scene and helped pull the driver to safety, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. The woman suffered non-life threatening injuries in what could've been a much worse outcome.
