'Just 4 You Parents' Winner Works 3 Jobs, Stays Upbeat

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (WCCO) -- Each week, WCCO This Morning is rewarding a hard-working, dedicated parent who loves what they do.

Angela Davis went to Bloomington to surprise this week's winner, Carrie Herzog, who has three jobs but still keeps a great attitude.

Davis surprised Herzog while she was getting her day started at an insurance firm in Richfield, Minn.

When she's not there, she's still working. A total of three jobs outside the home -- one full-time job and two part-time.

"I clean a building once a week. I work here full-time and sell Pampered Chef,  and I'm a mom ... so lots of jobs," said Herzog.

She has a 16-year-old son and a 20-year-old daughter who still lives at home.

A couple of months ago, her daughter had a baby girl, who Herzog helps take care of.

"You are learning how to be a Grandma?" asked Davis.

"Well, we don't call me the G-word," laughed Herzog. "We are trying to figure out what to call me but I am pretty sure it's not Grandma because my mom is Grandma."

Herzog's friend Kirsten Halen nominated her because she said she always has such a positive attitude.

"She is always concerned about other people, generous, giving, and a great listener. And you know, when there is a fun group activity, she's on it -- volunteering to bring food," said Halen.

It may seem like she wouldn't have enough time to balance it all, but Herzog said she finds time.

"I am very good at multi-tasking. My daughter calls me Super Mom," she laughed.

For all her hard work, WCCO gave Herzog and her family tickets to see the new exhibit "Real Pirates" coming to the Science Museum of Minnesota next month.

Each week, we select a new Just 4 You Parent, so keep those entries coming. If you know a busy parent, grandparent or guardian who goes above and beyond, nominate them by filling out this nomination form.
