EVELETH, Minn. (AP) — A man has been found dead inside a garage that burned in Fayal Township, south of Eveleth in northeastern Minnesota.

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office says the fire was reported around 3:30 p.m. Friday

The fire destroyed the detached garage, and the body of 61-year-old Gary Peritz was found inside the garage.

The Fayal Township and Eveleth fire departments responded to the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the sheriff’s office and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office.
