MANKATO, Minn. (AP) — Bryce Aneloski scored 1:37 into overtime to lift Nebraska-Omaha to a 2-1 win over Minnesota State, Mankato in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association game on Friday.
Aneloski scored on the power play after Adam Mueller was sent to the box for slashing just 45 seconds into the extra period.
Minnesota State, Mankato’s Phil Cook made five stops in overtime before Aneloski’s goal. Cook finished with 35 saves for MSUM (7-17-1, 3-12-1).
Matt White scored the game’s first goal at 7:26 of the first period for Nebraska-Omaha (12-9-4, 9-5-3) and J.P. Lafontaine tied the game 1-1 at 8:10 of the third period. White assisted on the game-winner.
Ryan Massa made 39 saves for UNO. He has allowed two of less goals in five straight games.
