Charges: Man Prostituted 17-Year-Old

ST. PAUL (WCCO/AP) -- A Columbia Heights man is accused of prostituting a minor, according to the Ramsey County Attorney's Office.

Charges filed on Thursday allege 34-year-old Samuel Cozart was caught on Tuesday by the manager of a Roseville area hotel, who contacted police.

The manager told officers that they had checked Cozart's name on the internet and found an escort service featuring the girl, who was later determined to be 17 years old.

According to the complaint, Cozart approached a man in the Days Inn Hotel in Roseville on Tuesday and asked where he could get fake identification for a girl staying with him.

Officers removed the girl and Cozart from the hotel room. Investigators found out that the girl was prostituting herself in exchange not only for money, but also meth, according to the charges.
