Santorum Tells Minnesotans The Race Is Still On

LUVERNE, M.N. (AP) — As political eyes remain fixed on Florida, Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum delivered a message to Minnesotans: The race is still on.

Santorum says that Minnesota doesn't get the attention of states with earlier caucuses, but he says the state's caucuses are "just as important."

Santorum greeted about 300 people Monday night at the Palace Theatre in Luverne. Former Mayor Bill Weber says organizers had planned the event at the Pizza Ranch but shifted venues as the guest list grew.

Tuesday marks Florida's primary, in which Santorum isn't polling well. After a weekend with family, he seemed to shift gears to build on the momentum of his late-announced Iowa caucus win.

Santorum told the crowd he plans to "be in it until the end." Minnesota's non-binding caucuses are Feb. 7.
