Humane Society: Help Hoarder's 107 Dogs Find Homes

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Animal Humane Society is asking for donations to help it care for the 107 dogs it rescued from unsanitary living conditions in northern Minnesota last week.

The Humane Society said it rescued 107 dogs and two cats from two feces-littered and urine-soaked trailers near Bemidji on Jan. 16. Authorities said the dog's owners were hoarders. The dogs were not physically abused, although they do suffer from mental trauma due to the filthy conditions in which they were raised.

All of the dogs are now at the Humane Society's Golden Valley facility. The organization says some of the dogs are ready for adoption. However, there are other dogs that still need to work with the Humane Society's rescue partners in order to learn how to trust people.

Some dogs have trouble leaving their kennels. Some need medical attention.

If you would like to donate to the Animal Humane Society, head over to their "From a Hoarder to a Home" page.

The Humane Society says contributions will help the recovering dogs find a loving home.
