An accident involving a semi trailed blocked the road between Exit 153: Stearns County Road 9 and Exit 156: Stearns County Road 159 near Avon, Minn.
The semi, which was traveling eastbound, lost control and smashed into a Stearns County squad car that was parked on the shoulder and flashing its emergency lights, the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office said.
A deputy was in the squad car at the time of the incident; he was taken to St. Cloud Hospital where we was treated and released.
MNDOT said road conditions made driving difficult in the area, with icy patches and reduced visibility.
Beside the semi crash, there were several other accidents reported in the area.
