GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — The search for a missing Britton, S.D., man who apparently got lost in dense fog has a happy ending as he was discovered more than 300 miles from home in Minnesota.

KELO-TV in Sioux Falls reports that 82-year-old Leonard Johnson was discovered a nearly six-hour drive from home in Grand Rapids, Minn. He hadn’t been seen since Friday. Police and motorists had been asked to keep watch out for his vehicle — a blue 1990 Ford F-150 truck.

WDAY-TV in Fargo had reported that a man matching his description was reported being seen at a car dealership early Saturday asking for directions.

Officials say Johnson might have gotten turned around by the day’s dense fog. Further details weren’t immediately available.

Agreed. He is too old to be driving anymore. 300 miles is a heck of a distance, he is no longer fit to drive.

I suppose you both know this gentleman? If not you should probably keep your comments to yourself since you have o idea what kind of shape this man is in.
Oh yeah, I hope you both live to be 110!

Sorry, but getting turned around in fog is quite different from driving for 5 or 6 hours without realizing what direction you are going or even what state you’re in. He was in MN for several hours and never knew it? Sorry. He should be in someone’s full time care, and driving should not be one of the privileges granted him. Be serious here.

Very easy for you to say. Remember your words when your family or state moves to take your independence from you. Got lost did you? Well it’s off to the nursing home for you. Sorry about your property, freedom and quality of life, but we just feel you’re too much of a bother. It’s time for the long slow death.
