Man Indicted In Calhoun Square Bank Robbery

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – A 54-year-old man was indicted in St. Paul Federal Court Tuesday in connection with the Jan. 2 robbery of a U.S. Bank in Calhoun Square.

Thomas Scott Wright, who is currently in the Hennepin County Jail, was charged with one count of bank robbery.

Wright is accused of stealing about $1,700 from the bank. According to police reports, a man identified as Wright walked into the bank, placed a paper bag on the counter and said "Please just do it. I have a gun. It's tough times and the holidays."

Wright allegedly got the cash and walked out of the bank. He was arrested on Jan. 3, but the money was not recovered.

If convicted, Wright faces up to 20 years in prison.
