Police Seek Public's Help To ID Popcorn Shop Robber

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Police are asking for the public's help to identify a man suspected of robbing a local popcorn shop.

Officers were called around 9:15 p.m. on Jan. 7 to Tom's Popcorn Shop, 4708 Cedar Ave. S., for a robbery call. Upon arrival, a female employee told them a man entered the business with a knife and demanded money.

The suspect was described as a black man with medium complexion and a goatee, between the age of 20 to 30 years old, about 5-foot-8 with a medium to heavy build. He was wearing a puffy black jacket with a hood and carrying a black backpack at the time of the incident.

The Minneapolis Police Department's Robbery Unit is investigating. Anyone with information in the case is asked to call 612-673-3648.
