Mixed Martial Arts Coming To Target Center

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It will be Minnesota versus Japan at the Target Center this coming April.

The venue announced they will be hosting "Cage Fighting Xtreme 33" on April 28, which will feature a number of mixed martial arts fighters from Minnesota.

"A card like this has never taken place here in Minnesota," said matchmaker Gavin Rydell.

There will be more than 20 bouts in all, including appearances by Minnetonka-native Strike Force veteran Jeremy Hamilton, Mikey Zimmer, and Travis Perzynski, originally from Mazeppa, Minn.

Representing Japan will be former World Judo champion Yoshiyuki Yoshida, Shooto Pan Pacific world champion Yoshihiro Koyama, and up-and-comer Yuki Yamamoto.

Other local fighters announced for the event include: Isaiah Larson, BJ Lacy, Courtney Buck, Gabe Greenberg, Billy Jochum, Travis Reddinger, Zack Wolff, Tony Belvedere, Branden Noetzel, Davonta Nunn, Ryan Sweezer and Richard Rodriguez.
