15-Year-Old Found Dead Near Mpls Railroad Tracks

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities are investigating after a 15-year-old boy was found dead near a set of railroad tracks in northeast Minneapolis Thursday night, according to police.

Police said a railroad worker spotted the body Thursday night around 10:15 p.m. in the area of 14th Avenue NE and Fillmore Street and called police.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the boy early Friday evening as Christopher Hanson of Minneapolis. The examiner’s office ruled Hanson died of injuries suffered in a train mishap. He suffered multiple blunt force craniocerebral injuries as the incident happened about 225 feet from a railroad marker.

Minneapolis Police continue to investigate incident along with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.

The incident remains under investigation at this time.

How many railroad tracks are in a set?

Remember the employee in the office that uses a new word every day?
That kid works for WCCO now. Can you just say died of head wounds, instead of “blunt force ‘craniocerebral’ injuries”.

No need to be a critic. That is why they use those words so someone can’t misunderstand there where’s and what’s. If someone doesn’t understand, that is how lawsuits happen.
People are so lawsuit happy now.

He was a real close friend and a team mate of mine. His dad was also a train jumper, but stopped after realizing the dangers. Chris’ mom had just talked to Chris the night before telling him how dangerous train hopping was. I guess he just wanted that last thrill…
