MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – This winter has been tough on skiers and snowboarders, but Buck Hill is bringing them one of the newest forms of winter fun.
It’s basically an airbag that skiers and snowboarders can land on while attempting difficult tricks like flips and spins.
Rufus Casey, founder of U.S. Airbag, said the first prototype for the airbag was made in 2010 with some help from engineers and stuntmen.
“It’s amazing, the adrenaline is incredible,” said Jared Smith, a 12-year-old snowboarder who tried out the airbag on Friday.
After watching Smith hit a few impressive runs, WCCO-TV’s Matt Brickman decided to try it out himself.
Watch the video above to see how that went.
The giant airbag will be at Buck Hill through President’s Day. For more information, check out Buck Hill’s website.
