State Patrol Looking For Suspect In High Speed Chase

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota State Patrol is looking for a suspect Saturday morning after a driver led them on a high speed chase in the northwest metro.

The incident happened around midnight in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 94 near Monticello. Authorities said the driver reached speeds as high as 140 miles per hour and exited the interstate near Highway 25.

State Patrol officials say the suspect then ditched the car, which officers later found. The suspect is still on the loose, but authorities say there is no danger to the public.

The State Patrol is still investigating what led up to the high speed chase.

What kind of car!? RUN BANDIT RUN!!!!!

    • Brett

It was one of the Duke brothers.

  • Bob

I would like to know why the cops seem to think it’s cool to chase someone that is obviously a danger to others doing a 140? Run the plates get the name and find him at a later date so he doesn’t plow into someone else at that speed. Unless he’s a mass murder and killed multiple people or kidnapped a little kid. This is just plain stupid.

    • Brian

How do you know he wasn’t a mass murderer? Thanks for your Marxist-Leninist two cents, bob, but I’m pretty sure the cops are trained and equipped to handle the situation safely. If it were as simple as running the plates and getting a name, there would never be a police chase. Instead of being upset with the cops for chasing a criminal (gasp), put the blame on the suspect. By the way, have you ever been on that stretch of I-94 in Wright County at midnight? It’s a ghost town. It’s not as if they were busting down Nicollet Mall at noon going 140. Lets get some perspective.

    • Tarts and *arts

Tell me Bob – where does it say the cops hit 140?
I wish to heck they had and grabbed the SOB – he’s laughing and thinking I can do it every time cuz I can
Go take an aspirin Bob so the hangover goes away huh

  • John

“the suspect then ditched the car,”

And they can’t run the plates? Was the car stolen?

“The suspect is still on the loose, but authorities say there is no danger to the public.”

How do they know this? Do they know the person?

There are so many things wrong here it is absurd.

    • Scott Alan

Life is unpredictable and dangerous. The many things wrong may be your wanting a more orderly world.

:Thank you for all of the hard work on this website. My aunt rlaely loves conducting investigations and it is simple to grasp why. Most of us learn all regarding the compelling way you deliver insightful guidelines on the web site and as well as invigorate participation from other ones on that matter so our favorite simple princess is now discovering a lot of things. Have fun with the rest of the year. You are always doing a powerful job.

  • Andy

Great bet away! Way to go!

    • Brent

Yeah he was probably some psychotic ex-marine who was upset about his dishonorable discharge. Glad you’re cheering for the bad guy, meat head. Hopefully his next stop is your house to kidnap your wife.

      • Andy

If he does he will get a bullet in the brain. I don’t call the police. The state patrol are the good guys? They are glorified ticket givers. If I was a cop I’d be mad if someone classed me with them. Semper Fi!

        • JeffS

Well I guess we’ve solved the mystery as to what police agency “wronged” Andy by arresting/citing him, thus giving rise to such bitter hatred of law enforcement.

          • Andy

Don’t disrespect real cops by categorizing state troopers as law enforcement.

  • Andy

    Get not bet

    • Feeling sorry for Andy

So pathetic little Andy, what exactly happened in your life to make you such a bitter little man? Your attempts at humor just show how small minded you are, and your antagonistic comments all day everyday just prove what a pure loser you are. Get some therapy and try to actually contribute something to society.

      • DEEP

many things can and do make people bitter…….. anger is far better than false positivity……… ANDY express your truth!

    • Charley Manson

lil” Andy….. yer momma is looking all over for you. I’m done with her for the day so she’s a huntin’ you down son. Best come home before she catches you in the outter world….hurry

  • iCat

To not road block ahead, is quite odd.
I know that exit. If blocked on inner curve, no way to recover.
Patrol must of thought he was all that was needed.

    • I'm just saying...

    • iDog

      Road blocks are illegal…

  • Thats why its called dFl

Kind of like when a white guy finally got arrested in Friday’s WCCO story (as opposed to the constant stream of minorities), I’m suprised this guy got away. Most cars won’t go 140 because they are computer goverened even though technically capable.

    • Brett

Ah, it’s relatively easy to get the governor defeated. All you need is a good speed shop and a tech willing to do it, or you can buy a device that will allow you to do it.

  • Wake Up

Luckily no one was hurt and maybe the state patrols pride is a little wounded for not catching him, but give it time as the guy will obviously brag about the fact that he got away from the cops.

naturally like your web site but you need to test the spelling on several of your posts. Many of them are rife with spelling issues and I in finding it very troublesome to tell the truth however I’ll certainly come again again.
