MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A major highway in the southwest metro is closed this weekend but is expected to reopen ahead of schedule.
Both directions of Highway 169 at Interstate 494, along the Eden Prairie-Edina border are closed.
This also includes the ramps from Highway 169 onto I-494.
Traffic cameras show crews replacing beams for a new bridge.
The project includes rebuilding the interchange with six ramps instead of eight, and removing traffic signals.
The highway was expected to reopen Monday at 5 a.m. but favorable weather has allowed it to reopen Sunday.
The highway will be open starting at 1:30 p.m.
