MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A female student was walking home when she was attacked from behind by a man with a knife, according to University Of Minnesota Police.

On Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., the attack occurred off-campus on the 500 block of Huron Boulevard, between Fulton and Essex Streets. During the attack, the suspect did not demand or take any valuables. He ran off when the victim screamed for help.

Authorities searched the area but did not find the attacker. He is described as a white male in his early-20s, between 5-foot-11 and 6-foot-2 with a light build. He was wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt with the hood up.

The victim was taken to an area hospital where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The Minneapolis Police is investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call their tip line at 612-692-8477.
