ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Leah Schwartzman scored two goals to send top-seeded Breck to a 3-2 victory against South St. Paul in the Class 1A girls hockey state championship.
Alexandra Wallin also scored for Breck and goaltender Taylor Neisen made 26 saves as the Mustangs (27-2-1) won their first state championship Saturday. They finished as runner-up twice in the past four seasons.
Emily Reibert and Sam LaShomb scored for South St. Paul (22-8-0) and ninth-grade goaltender Sydney Conley made 32 saves.
