MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 45-year-old man is dead after a snowmobile crash in Northern Minnesota.

The man ran into a tree around 6:30 p.m. Saturday on the Bill Morgan Trail near Orr in St. Louis County.

The man suffered severe head injuries and died at the scene.

His name has not been released.

Of course, Orr is actually about 50 miles north of where they’ve marked it on the map.

  • tim

I don’t understand, snowmobiles have been able to turn right or left since they started making them.

  • Just wondering

Why was there a tree planted in the snowmobile path? Is it the state of Minnesota or the DNR that should be sued for poor maintenance of the trails?

    • Chuck

Too bad you can’t recognize sarcasm when you see it!

  • Brett

Trees and sleds don’t mix, especially with alcohol.

  • dan

Wow, another 612 liberal with an opinion. Spend a day on the trails in N MN and see the number of families enjoying the outdoors. Just becasue some people drivbe drunk on 394 leaving downtown doesnt make evry driver a freekin hick

    • markH

Once again, in English this time.

  • :(

Anyone who was out on the trails yesterday instead of sitting on their couch with their tablet making snide comments about a man who was out doing what he loved would know that the trails were ungroomed and the powder was fresh. It didn’t take alcohol to make the trails a little slippery yesterday and sleds don’t always turn or stop on snow and ice. RIP my fellow sledhead.

  • kevin the pompous

Pis and moan, you know he was a trailer trash drunk snowmobiler heaed to or from the bar, that is ALL they have to do out there….damn hicks…..

  • INGY

Another stupid, pointless activity for anybody that lives in a town with a population in the single or double digits. If he lived in the city, he’d have more to do…and something more useful and constructive. Usually, people grow out of speeding on their snowmobile past the age of 19, but apparently this guy did not? Oh well, one less of those nutjobs that probably support Sarah Palin, Donald Trump, or Bozo the Clown for President.

    • Chuck

Boy, talk about the pot calling the kettle black! Your comments and judging attitude show a total lack of maturity and respect. And what do the political remarks have to do with this… you must be so bitter… so sad.

    • Kay

Horrible, Horrible comments. And where is the political dig coming from Chuck? I’m a 27 yr old independent from MPLS and I am disgusted. Going forward, I refuse to support a party whose members are going to take a tragedy and turn it into a way to bash people with such cruelty. I will be sure to forward this article to show a prime example of what your party represents.

  • Hugh Jorgan

Ouch. Note to self: Don’t run into trees…

    When’s lunch?

  • Common Cents

Maybe you should get your fat butts off the couch and go outside and enjoy life a little bit. You might be surprised how enjoyable the great outdoors can be.

  • Mike

Should of been zigging instead of zagging. one
    more for the ride home.

  • Richard Cheese

Drunk? Who said he was drunk? All of a sudden the dude was drunk…. Maybe he was high?

  • Jay

WOW. This guy was from 8 hours south….not from backwoods MN. In addition, this guy leaves behind a wife and 2 young children.
When I was forwarded this article I was told of the comments and I replied before reading it was probably a bunch of liberals.
I can see I was right. Funny how anyone who supports that party seems like a disgusting human being.

All of you need to think before you type. He was a devoted father and husband from IA visiting your state and adding revenue to the economy. He was NOT a pothead or unresponsible adult. My heart goes out to his family and friends, some of whom witnessed the accident. The rest of you need to have a little compassion.

A man dies in an accident, and all most people can do is insult him and call him names.
    People are so disgusting!
