Snow Hits Northern Minn. Sunday, Metro On Tuesday

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Twin Cities will dodge the snow storm that was expected to bring big totals on Sunday, but we'll see a few inches on Tuesday.

Northern Minnesota will get the most snow, with a steady stream since Saturday night putting totals at 4 to 8 inches when all is said and done. A nasty wind could blow that snow around, reducing visibility significantly.

The Twin Cities may see a dusting of that storm's snow, but it will be minimum accumulation, if any.

The heavier snow won't come to the metro area until Tuesday, continuing into Wednesday.

That storm has a rain/snow mix line that will hit just south of the Twin Cities. At this point, it appears it will be all snow that comes into the metro area. Early estimates indicate we'll see at least a few inches.

Heading into March, prepare for a bit of a cool down. The high for Saturday is only 19 degrees.
