Reporting Sara Pelissero
It’ll be quite a year for the Ordway Center for Performing Arts. With hits like “Chicago” and the revival sensation, “Anything Goes,” the 2012-2013 performance season is setting up to hit a high note.
The Ordway announced its line-up Monday, which includes shows and artists from Minnesota to New Zealand.
The 2012-2013 Ordway Theater Season is, as follows:
Aug. 7-12, 2012
Winner of six Tony Awards and a Grammy, Chicago is the prohibition-era tale of Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly. With hits like “All That Jazz” and “Cell Block Tango,” this jazzy musical is one not to miss.
Broadway Songbook Series
Rodgers and Hammerstein and Hart, Sept. 21-30, 2012
Stephen Sondheim, Jan. 18-27, 2013
Cole Porter, April 19-28, 2013

Billy Elliot The Musical
Oct. 9-14, 2012
Billy Elliot is the inspiring tale of following your dreams, no matter what others may think. The musical won 10 Tony Awards in 2009 and after you see the incredible choreography and emotional story, it’s easy to see why.
Elf The Musical
Dec. 5-30, 2012
Definitely one of my all-time favorite Christmas movies, “Elf” comes to life on the Ordway stage this holiday season. The original musical is a hilarious tale of Buddy the Elf, an orphan who makes a heroic journey to find his family.
May 7-12, 2013
Tony Award winner for Best Musical Revival and Best Choreography, “Anything Goes” centers on the journey to find true love on the open sea.
Buddy — The Buddy Holly Story

Ooh, wee, ooh, I look just like Buddy Holly. The Buddy Holly Story returns to the Ordway to tell the incredible true story of the legendary singer who died too soon. The smash features several of Holly’s greatest hits.
