Lynx Trade Houston To Phoenix For Draft Pick

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Lynx announced Tuesday they have traded forward Charde Houston and their 24th pick in the upcoming WNBA Draft for the 18th pick in this year’s draft.

Houston was drafted by the Lynx in the third round of the 2008 WNBA Draft. She was selected to the all-star team in 2009.

Last season, Houston averaged just 7.8 minutes per game, 2.9 points per game and 1.7 rebounds per game in 27 appearances. All figures were season lows.

The Lynx will have six picks in the 2012 WNBA Draft, which will be in April. They have two first-round picks, three in the second and one in the third.

The Lynx continue to improve their positions in the draft. With no real exciting center available to replace Taj ! { I hope she can keep going forever!]. The Lynx will be looking at the back up point gurd position and Lindsey’s likely eventual replacement in this draft! The acquisition of Thorn gives them yet another sharpshooting guard. So if I am the calling the shots.I would bring Rachel Jarry over from down under and work her out.If she can back up Brunson without a drop off or Augustus as a shooter. That gives the Wild a choice of avenues to choose not just for the upcoming draft .But also to position themselves with flexibilty in the next one too! If They can nab Samantha Prahlis from Ohio State and make shrewd draft day trades. The dynasty of future championships is almost assurred! Lindsey played sore and sometimes sick at times last year, she needs this draft to fall right. Wiggins is no slouch either and her slot as do it all American girl and field leader is not at all endangered by bringing in specialists and hot numbers. She and Rebecca and Taj are a solid steadying force that was a secret weapon of the Lynx game after game.BUT, an entire squad of overachievers is not that far away if done right!I don’t know about their chemistry, but man I was hot for all these teachers last season! AND I’m 64 years old!
