SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) – A freshman from Augustana College has been chosen to represent Team USA at the North America, Central America and Caribbean Cross Country Championships in Port of Spain, Trinidad, later this month.

Adam Braun of Shoreview, Minn., will compete in the men’s junior race. He is the second Augustana student to run with Team USA in international competition. Braun posted a sixth-place finish at the USA Cross Country Championships last month in St. Louis, Mo. The top-five finishers of that championship qualify for the world team. Because of an injury, Braun was elevated from an alternate to a competitor.

Head cross-country coach Tracy Hellman says that the experience will be great for Braun and will “help him in his future championship competitions.”

The event will be March 17.
