Car, Police Cruiser Crash In St. Paul

ST. PAUL (WCCO) — A St. Paul Police squad car was damaged after a crash early Thursday morning.

The cruiser crashed with another car around 12:30 a.m. at the corner of University Avenue and Hamline.

It wasn’t immediately clear which car ran the red light.

The squad car had some damage to its bumper. The other car was damaged on the rear passenger side.

Nobody was hurt in the crash.

    Its pretty clear that the officer had no control over his\her vehicle. After all… if it looks like a duck, talks like a duck. Guess what! Its a duck!

    No matter what it’s not the cops fault. He has a badge, he dosn’t have to follow any laws, especially trivial traffic laws.

    My experience would say the police car ran the red light.
    Last Friday night I traveled from St. Paul to Little Canada on Rice Street and back to St. Paul. In that round trip, I noted at least three police cars that did not stop at red lights when making right turns, one was going straight through a red light so they turned on their emergency lights to go through the light while it was red and then shut it off. Five + incidents (some witht he same police car) lane changes and turns without signaling and driving down the middle of the road while typing on computer …. They feel they are above the law which they are not.

    you know what WCCO, another car was also damaged in this incident as well. Perhaps you could at least try to pretend you are giving us some unbiased reporting of actual news.
