MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — You’ll soon have the chance to get rid of unwanted prescription medications, as Hennepin County will have three locations to drop them off.

The drive will also take your unwanted over-the-counter medicines and even unwanted vitamins and supplements.

One is at Hennepin County Sheriff’s Patrol Headquarters in Brooklyn Park.

You can also drop them off at the Sheriff’s Water Patrol in Spring Park or the Hennepin County Public Safety Facility in downtown Minneapolis.

The green medicine drop boxes will be located in the lobby of each location starting March 5.

No liquids will be accepted in the drop boxes, nor will thermometers or syringes.

Yeah, another government program for people that are smarter than their doctors, the drug companies, and the insurance companies. What will this program cost the tax payers?

  2. Civitas says:

Oh No….No one is going to break into these things. Dumb.

I was just going to say the same thing!! Typical government employee sitting behind a desk, with no real world experience, brainstorming something stupid…

This will be hotter than a ATM Machine!

      1. Research says:

The three locations are highly secured buildings. There’s no way to break into these without getting noticed. I do foresee a lot of drug addicts attempting to hang out by these and getting misdemeanors which will result in lower chances of landing a job and continuing their drug ways.
