MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – You’ll soon have the chance to get rid of unwanted prescription medications, as Hennepin County will have three locations to drop them off.

The drive will also take your unwanted over-the-counter medicines and even unwanted vitamins and supplements.

One is at Hennepin County Sheriff’s Patrol Headquarters in Brooklyn Park.

You can also drop them off at the Sheriff’s Water Patrol in Spring Park or the Hennepin County Public Safety Facility in downtown Minneapolis.

The green medicine drop boxes will be located in the lobby of each location starting March 5.

No liquids will be accepted in the drop boxes, nor will thermometers or syringes.
