Man Arrested In Hennepin County Meth Bust

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 31-year-old Crystal man was arrested Tuesday in connection with methamphetamine investigation conducted in Hennepin County.

Julian Ruiz Lozano was charged Thursday by the Hennepin County Attorney's Office with one felony count of first-degree controlled substance crime and one count of felon in possession of a firearm.

Authorities executed a search warrant this week on Lozano's apartment on the 3500 block of Lousiana Avenue North in Crystal. They confiscated a handgun and a large amount of methamphetamine during the bust.

Lozano was promptly arrested and booked into the Hennepin County Jail. He has a prior felony conviction for a controlled substance and was also convicted of second-degree murder in 1998.

The Hennepin County Violent Offender Task Force, which executed the bust, includes personnel from the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office, Brooklyn Center Police, Brooklyn Park Police, Golden Valley Police, Richfield Police and the federal Drug Enforcement Administration.
