Alan Jackson, Turtles, Monkees & More For State Fair

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — With the weather mimicking summer-like temperatures, it’s only fitting that we start thinking about the great Minnesota Get-Together.

Two evening acts have been confirmed for this year’s Grandstand Concert Series, including the Happy Together Tour featuring The Turtles with Flo & Eddie, The Monkees lead singer Micky Dolenz, Gary Puckett & the Union Gap, The Grass Roots and The Buckinghams.

The Happy Together Tour will perform at 8 p.m. Monday Aug. 27. Tickets are $18 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 24.

Another big name hitting the Grandstand stage, Alan Jackson has been scheduled to perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24. Tickets are $40 and go on sale at noon Saturday, March 24. An opening act will be announced at a later date.

Additional acts will be announced in the coming months. The 2012 Minnesota State Fair runs Aug. 23 to Labor Day, Sept. 3.

    Kevin, I happened by hccnae to see most of your video on the happenings in Madison.Well Done. I have been a union member almost my whole working life, and have experienced the difference in the way a worker is treated when they have no protection. As you portray, all workers will be affected by the loss of rights unions have fought for; Non-union workers just don’t realize it. Also, it does seem to me that the actions being taken against unionization is aimed more at reducing unions political clout, along with those rights. Thanks, Rik
