DNR Imposes New Burning Restrictions
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- As expected, our unusually warm weather is increasing the danger of wildfires.
New burning restrictions will kick in a week from today for much of central and northern Minnesota.
Hennepin, Wright and Dakota counties are included.
The Department of Natural Resources is moving earlier than usual as any remaining snow melts away and leaves behind dead grasses and brush.
Nearly all Minnesota wildfires that spark up in the spring are caused by people.
Mike Binkley was out on assignment Monday afternoon for Finding Minnesota and came across this grass fire at Interstate 35W and 95th Avenue in Blaine.
